Emily is a vocal performance coach specialising in a cappella and barbershop ensembles. Based in Geelong, she works with quartets and choruses across Australia, from newly formed groups to experienced competitive and performing ensembles. Her coaching brings together vocal skills, musicality and performance. Central to her approach is helping ensembles create performances that feel authentically their own: understanding the musical and stylistic possibilities available to them, identifying what best serves their ensemble and their story, and committing fully to those choices.

Emily’s coaching draws on a broad background as a performer, arranger and educator. As a singer, she has competed in Sweet Adelines International (SAI), Barbershop Harmony Australia (BHA) and the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS), and is the tenor of Mixed Signals, the 2023 and 2025 Barbershop Harmony Australia National Open Quartet Champions. She is a Sweet Adelines International Certified Director and Approved Arranger, and has served on faculty for Sweet Adelines Australia Regional Education Faculty, Barbershop Harmony Australia’s Harmony Academy and other regional education events. Outside barbershop, she has a substantial background in theatre, choral music and solo performance.

Emily has coached more than 60 ensembles nationally, working with upper, lower and mixed-voice groups across a broad range of experience levels. Her coaching style is collaborative, curious and direct. She aims to create an environment in which singers feel safe enough to experiment, take risks and make individual artistic choices, while being supported and challenged to grow. Her coaching is LGBTIQ+ inclusive, gender-affirming and neuroaffirming.
